Ethan's new house so far

Well we have some of Ethan's house finished, We started to paint the outside but the pink he chose, did not turn out as pink as we hoped so, we are going to get a darker pink to paint over the paint that is there now.

In the mean time we started on the inside, all of the walls have wallpaper hand picked by Ethan.

Ethan's callico Critters Adventures episode 1

I thought it would be cute to add Ethan's little critter adventures every once in a while to show you what Ethan does with his little guys. This morning's adventure takes place on the John Roswell Hub Trail. This trail runs through our city and basically you can walk the entire  city on these trails. they are beautiful, so full of trees and natural wildlife.

Our Adventure begins when Ethan brought along Penny Guinea Pig and Mr. and Mrs. Koala Bear for a walk along the hubtrail.

As we walked along the trails the critters thought they liked the pretty wild flowers so they picked a few to carry along our journey. They also found a toad sitting on some rocks enjoying the sun.

So after looking at the toad for a minutes we continued along the trail until be came to the first bridge, the critters carefully crossed the bridge and made it happily to the other side.

We then continued along the path until Mr. and Mrs. Koala Bear spotted an interesting looking tree, being Koalas they decided they should scurry up it check it out, Penny Guinea pig thought she should join them so up she scurried.

So after checking out the view from the tree we all walked down to the second bridge. This one is wooden and the critters were not as nervous as they were crossing the first bridge.

At the end of the walk they all sat on a rock and decided that it would be more enjoyable to be carried in Ethan's hoodie pocket back to the van.

The End.

Ethan's new house

About a month ago my 6 year old came to me and asked if he could have a new dollhouse for his Callico critters. He said there currant house was too small and he wanted a bigger one. So I approached a good friend of ours and asked him if he could build one for us. He said sure, draw me up what you want with measurements and he would build it. So since this was going to be Ethan's house I asked him what he wanted, so he got to work designing his dream house. He is so funny, it is amazing at 6 years old he knew exactly what he wanted. His layout looks like this. Main floor as two room, the second floor has three rooms and the top floor (you all will love this) has one room with a roof top balcony off of it. I asked him where he got that idea from, and he answered "in one of your mini books"!

So yesterday we got the call Ethan had been waiting for. His dollhouse was done and ready to come home. He was so excited, and for the 12 hours he has not stopped playing with, he moved his critters in, and he is happy.

Although the house is not quite finished, we need to paint, wallpaper, add flooring and stuff like that. So on Thursday we will be making a trip to Home Depot and Michaels to get our supplies to start decorating this amazing house that Ethan designed.

This house will become an amazing family treasure for years to come.

back to normal

Well we are back from our adventure with Ethan, who had eye surgery and his big birthday party at the Toronto Zoo. As most of you know Ethan is a big fan of Callico Critters, so for his birthday he received some new critters. I found online some patterns to make clothes for the little critters, so while Ethan was recovering from his surgery I made some outfits for his little friends.

Also it is swap day. This month I participated in 3 swaps the themes were pink/purple, baked goods, and bathroom swap. As always they were all beautifully made and each very creative. Swaps are always fun to make and receive. There are some very talented people in the group I am in.
