Merry Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. At the Pozzo  household we sure did. The only one of us that got anything mini related was Ethan. He had asked Santa for a dollhouse and some new Sylvanian families to go with his growing collection. Christmas morning was Critter overload with 3 sets of new families and a mini van and some new furniture and a house he was one happy boy.

Here is a recent picture of all of his "critters" as he calls them with all of the minis to go with him. to date he has 30 of the critters, he sat there and counted them all.

some projects

In between swaps on top of swaps I decided I would work on a few projects that were started but not finished. The toy shop is 99% finished. it just needs some more toys. I also worked on the farmer's market, it like the toy shop needs some more fruit and veggies. And then I made this cute stew set, with a large pot of stew and 3 bowls of stew all ready to be eaten.
Now it is back to my swaps for January and February. When my swaps arrive I will post pics of the fabulous items from some wonderful ladies.

dollar store find and surf shop

A few weeks ago I was in my local dollar store and came across some neat beads that were in the shapes of animals that resembled stuffies and dolls, sweets, pairs of shoes. I thought the toy looking ones would work in the toy shop and the little shoes would look cute in a baby room or in a cute shoe box on a shelf.

In my miniature magazine I came across instructions to make a surf or beach shack. So I decided I would make one to place in a beach scene. I am making the little shack as a surf shop that would sell some beach items. Last year I participated in a beach swap so I have a few items already. This little project is a long way from being done but it is a good start.

Where the door way is I made a beaded curtain. the magazine even came with the printable cut outs for the front and side. (light house and sail boats).

Here is teh completed scene. my hubby says I need to make a christmas one. For those who are wondering the box was made from 4 dollar store picture frames I hot glued together. the base is foam core.

I'm back online

Well if you are wondering where I was. I was without the internet for 3 long weeks. Our modem died and the company took forever to send us a new box. So while I was away from the computer a freind of mine send me some plastic canvas dollhouse furniture for Ethan. So that is what I have been up too. some of the pieces I designed myself like the washer and dryer, dish washer, microwave and bunkbeds.
He loves them all, and sadly I am not finished. I need to make another set of bunkbeds, another dresser, highchairs, pram, etc.
Here are some pictures of what I have made so far.

blog post day 6

Well it is a rainy day here so the best place to be is in my craft room (that is right ladies I have my own craft room, and I love it.) About a couple of months ago we rearranged the kids rooms and I have Abby's old room as my craft room. So since it was raining here I finished off a little project that I started yesterday. I am a blog follower of a wonderful lady, her blog is called my froggy stuff, she mainly does Barbie size minis, but you can shrink them and turn them into wonderful dollhouse size. Her latest tutorial was to make a flat screen t.v, DVD player with DVD and remote. So I got busy.
Here is Olivia watching the new DVD on the flat screen tv.

After finishing the TV, and since it was still raining I pulled out my sack of printies to see what I had. Well I remembered I had printed of a bunch of pet ones for the pet shop I want to make, so I thought "why not" so I got to work on some of them.

October 5, national dollhouse month day 5

Today I got to work on a bunch if minis in between my real life stuff that I had to do. I got more of the flowers done for the swap that I am working on. On of the swaps I am currently working on is a clock swap. I made this cute mantle or shelf clock, since I figured most would do a wall clock. I painted a wooden block and added a printie for the clock face, over top of the printie I added a silver jump ring and I added beads for decoration on top of the clock as well as beads for the feet of the clock. The brown one is for the swap and the pink and purple ones are for Ethan's house.

October 4, day 4

Today I decided I wanted to make some Tiger Lilies to go in toe the plastic vases I decorated with polka dot nail polish. The lids are from Avon lip stick samples. my Avon lady was so nice and ordered me a few packages of them. the sample packages are only available if you sell products for the company.  These 10 vases are for a swap that I am involved with . It is part of the yearly swap and I have the month of November. These flowers have fall colours and as most of you know I love making paper flowers, they are becoming one of my favourite minis to make.

national dollhouse month day 3

Yesterday I received a download from Ethan's sylvanian families or Callico critters as they call them in north America. It was patterns to make Halloween costumes for the little critters. So as a surprise to Ethan I printed off the pattern sheet which makes 4 costumes, a witch, a wizard, a pumpkin and a Joker or Jester. The patterns were very simple, use need scraps of felt and a little bit of hand sewing and some embellishments and that is all. So last night while I was watching T.V. I whipped up these cute little costumes and dressed up his little critters in them.

They turned out really cute.

Day 2

Well it is day 2 I have been working more on the toy shop, shelves are in on the second floor, I have begun putting toys on the shelves, need to make some more toys to finish filling the shelves, I also need to print off the car mats and train mats to go in the bin. I also have a pattern for a super cute scooter I want to try to make. A friend of mine her husband designed it for me, so we will see how that goes. Here are the pictures of the shelves on the second floor.

National dollhouse month post 1

Okay I'm in, some of my blog friends have come up with an idea to make a new blog post every day for the month of October to commemorate National Dollhouse Month. By participating it also forces me to work on some of my mini projects while blogging. So here we go today is the first blog post of October. Today I worked on the little cross stitch carpet for my willow house. the grey and black are done. I also pulled out the toy shop and started making shelves for the second floor. I also finished the main part of the cash register done, my next job is to figure out how to make a debit card machine part for the cash register. I am thinking clay.

So this is what I have so far for today.

cross stitch carpet

Awhile ago I came across some printable cross stitch patterns for some miniature dollhouse rugs. I printed a few of them out and placed them in my binder of patterns and tutorials for safe keeping. During the summer I decided I wanted to start working on one of them. So I dug out the patterns and thought the smaller rectangular one would be perfect for the master bedroom in the willow so I changed some of the colours to match the colour scheme of the bedroom the carpet would be in and away I began. this is what I have done up until now.

new beginnings

Well lots have been going on in my real life, the summer was great and the kids have now settled into their back to school routine, and we have a new addition to the family. Her name is Maya and she is just the sweetest little puppy we have ever seen. Maya is 2 months old now so as you all know puppies are a lot of work. On the mini end of things I have been working on my Halloween box and getting swaps done. Our swap groups have changed a little bit, so it easier to get them done and I have time to work on my own projects in between.

Swap Day

Today is swap day, a few months ago I signed up for an Autumn Swap through my usually swap group. Well today I got them back. These swaps are a great surprise since you do not know what you are getting. These items are going to fit in nicely with my ongoing projects. this time 9 ladies participated and these are the goodies that myself and the wonderful ladies made. Wwe have such talented people in this group.

The next swaps are due October 1, so stay tuned.

more projects

I have gone as far as I have gone with the toy shop right now until I go to Michaels and pick up some more supplies for the upper room shelves, banister and roof. Awhile ago I bought the supplies to put together a Halloween Display using picture frames as the sides of the box. Last fall I participated in a Halloween swap and I have two more in the works this year. So I decided to start putting it together. I still need to get a couple skeletons and dress them up in some cool scary outfits. I used Halloween scrapbook paper for the walls. I really like how it looks and can't wait to see what other wonderful goodies I will be receiving to be able to use for this Halloween scene.

toy shop outside almost done

Well it was another busy day yesterday and I did manage to get most of the outside finished. sign and clock are up as well as the clown paintings I did awhile ago. Today is door and awning day, I want to make awnings for the two upper windows and make and hang the door , the door will not open. but will have a large window in it for viewing.

Saturday 10 August 2013

blue toy shop

Well the toy shop had been painted. I sponge painted it as I did not want the toilet paper and white paint getting too wet and ripping off. I like the look I got once it dried. The colour I choose was Tropical Blue. I wanted something bright and cheery, and with the yellow trim it will look great. I also like how the grey bricks on the bottom really look. So while I was waiting for paint to dry I made some mini flowers. I think a mini flower shop is my next shop I will do. It will be one floor and wider than the toy shop, maybe more square shape to it then the rectangle. I will be using the same building technique as it works well and budget friendly. I really enjoy making the paper flowers.

The flowers are Lotus lowers, Tiger lilies, and California Poppies.

Thursday 8 August 2013

back to the toy shop

Well  the swap group I am in have changed a few things around so I now have more time to work on my projects. So I decided to get back to work on the toy shop. This week I worked on getting the outside done. I wanted to stucco the outside so thanks to Joanne from Joanne's minis and her wonderful tutorials I was able to stucco the outside of the toy shop cheaply. The Stucco is made from toilet paper and white paint. It does not get much easier than that. After the stucco was dry I made some tiny bricks from painted sandpaper. I am planning on painting over the white to add some colour to the outside of the shop.

Ethan's critter house

I have been working on stuff for Ethan lately as well as packing up our 12 year old who is currently in Alberta, Canada for the Canadian Boy Scout jamboree.

I found a tutorial online for a chaise lounge made from poster board and foam core and fabric, so I made the pattern smaller than what it called for and made it for Ethan's critters to sit on while enjoying the sun on the roof top patio. It turned out really cute. And then I made five flower boxes for the windows of his house. Michaels had a big clearance on artificial flowers so I was able to pick up some pretty ones in some colours he likes.

I do not know how many minis I will get done this week as I will be getting the 5 of us ready for camp next weekend. Our 12 year old will join us a week Tuesday once he is back. This summer my mom and my siblings are all getting together and doing a family camp for a week, we have rented two cottages on Manitoulin Island. a whole week of sand and sun. We are all looking forward to the holiday.
